The Optical Illusion Confusing The Internet. Fish, Seal Or Mermaid?
An optical illusion which apparently determines whether you are a left-brained or a right-brained person is currently a viral sensation on the internet.
"If you're right-brained, you'll see a fish. If you're left-brained, you'll see a mermaid," was the caption for the picture of the illusion.
Now many people including the famous Harry Potter books author J.K Rowling didn't see a mermaid, fish or seal but actually saw a donkey.
She stated on twitter "It's a donkey though"
Now comedian David Baddiel, he didn't see an animal of any kind.
Yep, he saw a bin liner. We actually see what you mean David!
If we did a little deeper into the theory behind all this madness, it is thought that the left brain is responsible for logic and analytical thinking and the right brain is responsible for creativity and imagination.
Current research according to Harvard however says that "it seems unlikely that it’s the dominance of one side of the brain or the other that matters."
So perhaps this illusion is nothing more than a confusing drawing that means nothing, who knows.
Either way, are you on team fish, seal, mermaid or donkey?
