Liisa Hietanen from Hämeenkyrö, Finland is an absolute whiz at knitting. She crochets life sized sculptures of the local people and she even made a sculpture of herself with her cute dog.
These images are so life like that on first glance it is hard to tell whether they are the real deal or not.

In order for her artworks to achieve such a real look, she uses a metal framework and then uses different croquet techniques to cover the frame.
Liisa uses her artistic knitting skills as a way of thinking. “[The approaches are] continuous and present and allows a portrait to slowly find its character,” she writes in an artist statement.
“I meet the same familiar strangers every day on the street and our common world is the size of a small village. I am depicting the present moment by portraying my own surroundings, but at the same time I am bringing out something common to us all.”
Well, we are pretty blown away by this Finnish lady's artistic talent. Well done Liisa!
Hey, while we are on the subject of knitting, did you hear about the cat that swallowed a ball of yarn? She had mittens.
