'Tis the season to be jolly, or so they say. But what's a father to do when his daughter is soaring the skies as a holiday flight attendant?
In a heartwarming twist, Hal Vaughan went above and beyond, booking not just one, but multiple flights to spend Christmas 2018 with his daughter, Pierce, who serves as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines.
One of his fellow passengers, Mike Levy, couldn't help but share Vaughan's extraordinary tale on Facebook, applauding him as a "fantastic father."
"I was on a flight from Fort Myers to Detroit, chatting with Hal when I mentioned heading back home," Levy recounted to CNN. "That's when he shared the reason for his journey – to be with his daughter over Christmas, who was working on our flight."
"His dedication truly astounded me. It's not every day you come across a dad going to such great lengths for his daughter," Levy added. "Pierce is very sweet. She definitely knows now how great her dad really is."
According to Levy, Hal Vaughan managed to secure a total of six flights over the holiday period.
After the story went viral, Pierce Vaughan chimed in, delighting in her dad's first successful trip using his flight benefits. She expressed her gratitude to the patient and delightful gate agents and her perfect crew. "He made it onto every flight, and even snagged a first-class seat from RSW to DTW (a Christmas miracle)," she exclaimed.
Levy mentioned that Hal had faced some hardships due to a recent accident, stating, "He is still recovering from a neck injury from earlier in the year, which had left him quadriplegic for a period. This was his first trip since the accident."
"We appreciate all of our employees for working during the holidays to serve Delta customers, and love seeing this awesome Dad having the chance to spend Christmas with his daughter -- even while crisscrossing the country at 30,000 feet," Delta expressed. A very heart warming story all around. Nice work dad.
